As a part of restructuring, the process of sectioning off services not directly related to production was started. The repair and service departments were transformed into separate economic entities. "Budchem" company was established together with Budimex Poznań SA, "Wrzos" company was formed of two plant?s holiday centres, services and employees from other departments were taken over by specialist companies - "Supon" SA and "Sial"

A prototype system eliminating emission of odour forming gases was mounted on one of the production lines of the Phosphoric Production Plant.

In the "Police" Port Complex existing since 1971, the 40th million tonne of commodities was handled.

A transmission pipeline of municipal waste water from Police was connected to the plant's waste water treatment plant.

The Laboratory of Technical Inspection of Zakłady Chemiczne "POLICE" SA - as the second one in the province - was granted the quality system certificate according to the PN-EN-45001 standard.

During the 13th "POLAGRA" 97 agricultural-industrial fair, Zakłady Chemiczne "POLICE" SA was granted the All-Poland Main Prize of "Partners 97".

Introduction of computer system of production control on both production lines of the Ammonia Plant.

Zakłady Chemiczne "POLICE" SA joined the "Responsible Care" programme that commits the Plant to system implementing of pro-ecological investments.

On 30th of December 1996 the Plant was entered into the Commercial Register and started its activity as Zakłady Chemiczne "POLICE" SA .

In the same year, the technology of production of titanium dioxide with addition of zirconium was prepared.
